Hit-hat Doper | RAAHSafety
Safe and efficient:
The high level of safety in today’s drilling operations around the world requires special attention to equipment. Many drilling rigs have fully automated derrick and pipe handling systems as well as automic dope systems. But still we experience personnel using HP cleaners and manual dope brushes when drill pipe and other tubulars are cleaned and doped prior to connection.
Hi-hat Doper is a lightweight raised frame with a foot operated lid. It has brackets on the side for holding two dope brushes. The ideal solution is to have Hi-hat Doper placed on Rigfloor and Pipedeck, it is also useful in all other areas where dope/grease buckets are in use both onshore and offshore (Red Zone).
How does the tool work?
While the DP is moving from setback area towards well center the pipe handler will make a wash and dope stop. With the Hi-hat Doper positioned on the drill floor it is very accessible. Grab the brush from the holder, step on the pedal to open the lid and grease the brush. The elevated bucket is ergonomically ideal. When not in use the lid will keep out water and other unwanted substances that normally pollutes the dope.
- Keeps water and debris out of the expensive Dope bucket
- Improve Dope lifetime
- No contaminated Dope will be applied on threads
- Improves ergonomics
- Fast and efficient to use
- Improves organization on the drill floor
- Personnel not exposed to Dope
- Cost saving.
